About Gus
A lifelong North-West Ontario resident, Gus came to Fort Frances to begin his career as a professional forester. Soon after, he met his wife Barbara and he decided to remain in Fort Frances. Making that possible was his new career calling, becoming a financial professional.
Always dedicated to providing the highest level of service possible to his clients, Gus attained the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter early in his career, and has actively pursued a high level of regular continuing education in his field.
Community involvement has been a cornerstone of Gus’ life in Fort Frances. He has been active as a member and past president of the Fort Frances Kinsmen Club, sat as a director of the Chamber of Commerce, and as a director of Kitchen Creek Golf Course. A favourite activity was being a leader of the local wolf cub pack. All have been wonderful experiences.
Now associated with Optimize Wealth Management, Gus stands enthusiastically ready to bring an even higher level of knowledge, service and products to his existing and new clients.

Derrick Marcelino is the Portfolio Manager who advises and manages client investment accounts, while Gus helps clients with their Financial Planning needs and can also help clients access value-added services available to Optimize clients such as tax planning, estate planning, or insurance*.
