Canada is well-known as a destination for immigrants looking to start a family and build wealth. By 2025, the Canadian government is looking to add over one million immigrants as permanent residents. A large group of these migrants are well-educated, with money that they are looking to invest and grow. Regardless of where these migrants come from, there is a good chance the financial industry and regulations in their home country are vastly different compared to Canada. These newcomers will be looking for secure and professional advice from experts who are familiar with the financial landscape.

Building trust with these potential clients is crucial for advisors. Just because migrants have money to invest, does not mean they will automatically hand it over to advisors. Starting a new life in a different country is difficult for anyone, and finding the right person to manage your wealth can be even more challenging. Advisors who are able to educate themselves on different cultures, and get involved in the community can start to slowly but surely foster trust, and eventually build a successful relationship.
