Karen began her career graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance. She worked with a major accounting firm post graduation in Toronto and it was there that she discovered her passion for working with individuals and small businesses. Karen has been a licenced mutual fund representative since 1995 and a Certified Financial Planner since January 2003, a designation that encompasses knowledge pertaining to all aspects of financial planning, including insurance needs analysis and estate planning.
In 1996, Karen moved her office from Toronto to her home in Mount Albert, a quaint town north of the city. This allowed her to have more time with her family and a better environment to focus on her clients’ unique needs. She currently holds a life insurance licence and is a Certified Financial Divorce Specialist, along with her CFP designation.
Karen thrives on helping her clients attain their financial goals. Whether it be the security of knowing the client has all their financial needs addressed or the satisfaction of paying the least amount of tax possible, Karen finds the optimum financial solution. This was actualized recently when a long-term client thanked her for getting him to the finish line of a solid financial foundation for his retirement years.
Although Karen loves the country air, she is also a devoted fan of Toronto’s art and theatre scenes, as well as an avid skier and golfer. As such, her clients are both local to her office as well as the surrounding Toronto area, feeding her love of country and city simultaneously, all the while helping her clients to, as they say, “sleep at night”.
