As one of the principal advisors at MacLellan & Moffatt Financial, Patrick Gilbert has spent over a decade building his career around a simple idea: people deserve to feel secure, not stressed, about their financial future. He entered the industry in 2013 and became part of the MMF team in 2017.

Pat works with families and business owners from coast to coast, focusing on life, disability, and critical illness insurance alongside wealth management strategies. Whether he's helping a young family protect what matters most or guiding a business owner through long-term planning, his approach stays the same: build a foundation today that pays off for years to come.

What sets Pat apart is the relationship itself. He measures success not just in policies or portfolios, but in how a client feels walking out of a meeting: confident, informed, and genuinely excited about what's ahead.

A lifelong Haligonian, Pat still calls Halifax home, where he lives with his wife and sons. When he's not in the office, chances are he's at the rink or on the golf course, coaching, playing, or just soaking in his hometown's sports scene.

Grayson joined MacLellan & Moffatt Financial in January 2025, bringing over 20 years of experience in the insurance and investment industry. Over the course of his career, he's worked closely with individuals and businesses across Atlantic Canada, helping them address challenges and keep their plans running smoothly.

A lifelong hockey guy at heart, Grayson has spent years as a coach, instructor, and player, and he carries those same values of teamwork and camaraderie straight into his role as an advisor. For him, good financial planning isn't so different from a good team: it takes trust, communication, and everyone working toward the same goal.

Born and raised in Cape Breton, Grayson now calls Timberlea, NS home, where he lives with his wife, Julene. He's the proud dad and stepdad to Ty, Rogan, Cohen, and Elena.

With a background spanning group benefits, administration, and healthcare, Dona brings a service-first approach to every client relationship. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, giving her a strong foundation in the operational and organizational side of financial services.

Dona plays a key role behind the scenes and on the front lines, overseeing administration and account servicing, providing leadership support, and helping shape marketing and communications efforts that keep clients informed and engaged. Her experience in group benefits gives her a practical understanding of the coverage and support families and businesses rely on, and she's committed to making every interaction with the team feel smooth, personal, and dependable.

Outside of work, Dona prioritizes wellness in all its forms. She can often be found on a hiking trail recharging in nature, or dancing, an outlet she turns to for both fitness and joy.

Jessica Dixon joined the MacLellan & Moffatt Financial team in December 2021, bringing a uniquely analytical perspective to the insurance industry. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she approaches her work with genuine curiosity, driven to deeply understand the complexities of insurance and investments so she can translate them clearly for others.

This analytical mindset shows up in her unwavering dedication to client education. Jessica believes confident decisions come from real understanding, and she takes the time to ensure clients grasp their options so they can navigate the financial landscape with clarity.

Outside of work, Jessica recharges by exploring nature through hiking, and keeps her mind sharp with daily crosswords and coffee.

With over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, Phillip Soares brings deep expertise in comprehensive financial planning, strategic portfolio management, retirement and estate planning, tax-efficient investment strategies, and risk management. His client-centred approach combines advanced financial knowledge with a commitment to building lasting relationships through trust and personalized advice.

Phillip holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, Management Science, and Finance from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), graduating in 2017. He has gone on to earn both the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation in 2019 and the Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) designation in 2023—demonstrating his dedication to ongoing professional development and delivering best-in-class service.

One of Phillip’s proudest achievements is building his practice from the ground up, cultivating long-standing client relationships through hard work, integrity, and a consistent focus on his clients’ evolving goals.

Proud of his Portuguese heritage and devoted to his growing family, Phillip draws inspiration from being a husband and father. Outside of work, he is a self-described “mostly-retired DJ” who still enjoys crate-digging at local record shops. He’s also a passionate soccer and football fan and spends his free time on the pickleball court or with his wife and young son—his greatest source of joy.
